Visitors to the Athletic complex of a new middle school are greeted by an 11’ x 17’ wall-mounted stainless steel apple tree, blown sideways and streaming cast bronze leaves and high-relief golden apples down nearly forty feet of an interior hallway. Students entering by the main entrance encounter a second, related installation consisting of a 3’ x 15’ stainless steel branch with more leaves and apples, wrapping a corner just outside the student commons area. Each of the 37 unique cast bronze apples is spanned by a bronze ‘ribbon’ engraved with a different ‘virtue’.
